Kids and teens, get in the game at the McLoud library on Thursday, March 25. Children and tweens ages 6 to 12 are invited from 3:30 to 4:20 p.m. to play video games in the Milburn Room. At 4:30 p.m., teens ages 13 to 18 will take over and play for around an hour.

The McLoud Public Library begins a three-part series of financial education workshops with Foundations for Financial Plans: Values, Goals, and Asset Building at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the library, 133 N. Main.

The class, presented by financial education consultant Inger Giuffrida, is presented free of charge through the Pioneer Library System Smart Money program, funded in part  by the American Library Association and FINRA Investor Education Foundation.  Space is limited and registration is required. To register, visit the library or call 964-2960.

The Foundations for Financial Plans workshop will provide a basic understand of how individuals create personal wealth. Participants will explore asset building as a path to economic security and will learn strategies for setting realistic financial goals through savings and investing.

Other PLS Smart Money workshops are Principles of Saving and Investing on Tuesday, April 6; and Understanding Credit: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly on May 4.

On Thursday, February 18, tweens and teens are invited to come play at the McLoud Public Library. Starting at 4:30 p.m., video gaming programs will be set up for those ages 12 to 18 in the Milburn Room.

children with Dally Trussell as he wins a savings bondRecently, the McLoud Public Library announced its first savings bond winner at a monthly Toddler Time. Toddler Dally Trussell won a $50 bond, monetarily provided by McLoud BancFirst. The bond was purchased by McLoud Friends of the Library.

Another bond will be awarded during a Toddler Time in the spring.
 
Toddler Time is a part of the library’s Growing Like A Read program, and occurs the third Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. It is aimed for children aged two to four-years-old.
