Tecumseh teens to take part in Underland survival program

LogoThe programs from the Oklahoma Museum Network’s Outreach department are becoming yearly favorites during the Summer Reading Program, and this year’s slate from the museum group doesn’t disappoint.

“We always try to find several programs per age group, based on a literary theme or book series,” said Eileen Castle, coordinator of outreach programs with OMN, which includes Science Museum Oklahoma and five other facilities in the state.

“Using science to explore literature is a way to really bring the literature alive.”

The Tecumseh Public Library invites teens to take part in “An Overlander’s Underland Survival Guide,” set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 4.

Based on Suzanne Collins’ Underland Chronicles, which is most known for the book Gregor the Overlander , this program takes participants through a series of survival tests as the library is transformed into an underworld replica.
