Fans of the American Girl book series, ages 8 to 12 years, will gather at the McLoud Public Library, 133 N. Main, for the Tenth Annual American Girl Tea Party, Saturday, November 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration is required to attend; call the library at 964-2960.
The tea party conversation will center around “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.” Nine-year-old Kit’s story is set in during the Great Depression in 1934. After the tea party, the movie will be shown in the library.
The book is part of the American Girls collection that tell the stories of American girls who lived long ago. The stories are told in an entertaining and historically correct way to show how each girl lived in her own period of American history. There is a short section at the end of the story “Looking Back” into the past era of each girl.
