Getting legal information and following simple ‘do’s and don’ts’ before taking the leap of business ownership, can save costly errors, set-backs, and frustrations.A special two part workshop series, entitled Legally Speaking, is scheduled for Monday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Moore Public Library 225 South Howard in Moore.The program, geared to get you started on the right track, will feature a discussion with lawyer Carolie Rozell, of the legal firm Fulkerson & Fulkerson of Oklahoma City.
In Session I, Rozell plans to cover various business structures, with emphasis on how to determine the most appropriate structure for your business venture.Business plans, necessary documents, steps to forming specific entities, compliance with licenses and permits, incorporating your business, and liability to your business are topics up for discussion.Participants will gain a better understanding of the vital role certain documents play in the formation of a business.
Session II, slated for November 10th at 6:30 p.m., will cover common legal pitfalls that occur in business and how to protect yourself from costly mistakes.Rozell, a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in finance, received a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University in 2002.She practices law in areas of corporate and commercial, real estate, probate, estate planning, and civil litigation.
