The Pioneer Library System's annual PLS Big Read is taking readers to the Wild West through the words of author Charles Portis and his novel "True Grit."
The novel also inspired two notable film versions – the 1969 classic starring the legendary John Wayne, and a 2010 remake starring Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin and produced by Joel and Ethan Coen.
