How do I request an item/ put an item on hold?

Frequently Asked Questions - General
Requesting an item ensures that you will be able to borrow the item when it is next available. In order to request an item, you have a few options: the catalog, telephone the library, or ask at the circulation desk. The following are directions for using the catalog to request an item. If you have trouble using the catalog to request an item, please contact your hometown library for help.
Using the Catalog
Please note: When using the catalog use Internet Explorer for the easiest searching experience.
Find item you wish to request with a keyword, title, author, or subject search
Click "place a hold" button on the bottom right of catalog record
If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to login
Enter borrower ID (all 14 digits of library card barcode)
Enter PIN or last 4 digits of phone number
Click "login" button
Will bring up screen with request form
Choose pick up location from drop down menu
Add any comments
Click "request" button
Will bring up confirmation screen with your number in queue and pick up location
Click "return to searching" or "log out and return"
View items you have requested/put on hold
Click "Your Account" tab on the top navigation bar
If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to login
Enter borrower ID (all 14 digits of library card barcode)
Enter PIN or last 4 digits of phone number
Click "login" button
Your information will be displayed
Click the "holds" button (third button from the left on purple navigation bar at the top)
Your requested items will be displayed
