The Big Read is the focus of April. The Pioneer Library System will present events focused on the bestselling novel "The Joy Luck Club" by Amy Tan. This story about four immigrant Chinese women and their Americanized daughters explores mother-daughter relationships, immigration and cultural identity.

Ms. Tan will be giving a public talk on April 27, at 7 p.m. at the Great Hall of the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. Check with your home town library for special teen Big Read events this month.
