Techie tweens and teens invited to robotic workshop in Blanchard

The Blanchard Public Library has the formula for Techie Teens and Tweens at its T3 Robot workshop, an afterschool program at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

Participants will use specialized Lego kits to create and program robots to perform simple tasks.

Blanchard welcomes beginners to Computer Basics class

Get an introduction to the world of computers with the Blanchard Public Library’s “Computer Basics” program, set for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the library, 205 NE 10th St.

The class is for ages 18 and up and gives a lesson in mouse skills, organizing folder, saving documents and some elements of using the Windows 8 operating system.

Blanchard presents weekly Story Time, Rhythmical Lapsit programs

The Blanchard Public Library welcomes the community and its youngest patrons to its morning activities for children and their caregivers with its weekly programs on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the fall.

Preschool Story Time, for ages 3 to 5 years old, takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays. The programs will feature a mixture of stories, music, flannel board activities, rhymes and more. Story Time dates in September are Sept. 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Rhythmical Lapsit for Babies and Toddlers takes place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 10, 17 and 24. The program is geared to babies and toddlers ages 2 and under. It includes books, rhymes, bounces, and rhythmical musical fun. The program is interactive between caregiver and child.
