McLoud invites teens to summer Lake Bash

McLoud - Summer Reading - Teens

FishThe McLoud Public Library and Oklahoma Department of Wildlife invite local teens to an annual favorite of the library’s Summer Reading Program, its Lake Bash, starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Wes Watkins Reservoir.

Those attending will need to have their own transportation to and from the lake. Attendees must be between ages 14 and 18.

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife representatives will show off knot tying, fish identification and how to cast before the group takes part in some fishing at the lake.

Eat up some “dirt cake” at the library in McLoud

Dirt cakeDirt Cake may not sound appetizing to everyone, but it’s on the menu for tweens at the McLoud Public Library at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25.

Ages 8 to 12 can take part and will use a flower pot to make their own “dirt” cake that they can eat.

Supplies are provided, and registration is not required to attend.

Learn how to make a terrarium with McLoud program

McLoud - Summer Reading - Adult

TerrariumBring the underground into an above-ground creation at the McLoud Public Library program “How to Make a Terrarium” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, at the library, 133 N. Main St.

Ages 18 and up are invited to the program, which is part of the library’s “Groundbreaking Reads” theme for this year’s Summer Reading Program.

McLoud features new book drop

McLoud - Check this out!

 

Book dropThe McLoud Public Library has a new drive-up location for its book drop. The book drop has been moved to the south end of the parking lot located to the west side behind the library building. The move has been made due to changes in the area in front of the building from the City of McLoud’s sidewalk project.
