Former OU defensive end Eric Thunander will visit the Pioneer Library System hometown libraries to discuss his recently released autobiography “Silent Thunder.” He will speak at the Newcaslte Public Library Tuesday, July 15, at 6 p.m.
Thunander, a member of the 2000 National Championship team, was one of only a few deaf athletes to play at the Division I level at the time. “Silent Thunder” chronicles the path that took him from a childhood of chronic abuse, unimaginable tragedy, and foster care to find acceptance and a family at the University of Oklahoma.
At the library presentation, Thunander will speak and sign to share his personal insights on the topic, “What It Takes to Be a Champion.” He will also have advance copies of “Silent Thunder” available for purchase and autographing.
