Teens can get basic genealogy lesson in Newcastle workshop

It’s never too early to start digging into family history. And the Newcastle Public Library is giving local teens a chance to learn some basics of genealogy at the program Digging Into Your Past, set for 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.

Lori Brooks will lead the program, demonstrating some of the resources available through hometown libraries, including the websites Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest.

Space is limited, so registration is required in advance to take part.
