The Newcastle Public Library presents a program on Home Canning at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at the library, 705 NW 10th St.
The workshop, presented by staff from the McClain County OSU Extension Office, will look at the dos and don’ts of preservation and canning. The workshop will include both water bath methods and pressure canning of jellies, jams, fruits and vegetables.
The group will also talk about problems and solutions in home canning. Information hand-outs and recipes will be available for participants.
The program is for ages 18 and up, and registration is required in advance to attend.
