Star Wars Week caps off successful summer in Noble
Noble - Summer Reading - Children
The force has made its way across the galaxy to the Noble Public Library, with Star Wars Week wrapping up another fun-filled year of Summer Reading at the library.
Star Wars Week features a variety of activities, culminating with the end-of-summer celebration event.
The schedule features:
Wednesday, July 18, 10 a.m. – Droid Building Contest – Participants can use miscellaneous parts provided by the library for building their own robot. Prizes will be awarded to the top droids, and participants are encouraged to come in costume. The program is for elementary school age children.
Thursday, July 19, 2 p.m. – Star Wars Film Features – Teens are invited for an afternoon of movie watching as they travel to a galaxy far away. They’re encouraged to wear their favorite Star Wars costumes and enjoy themed snacks provided by the library.
Friday, July 20, 5:30 p.m. – Star Wars Style Summer Reading Program Celebration – Participants of all ages are invited to finish off this year’s SRP.
They can dress as their favorite character and play themed games, participate in a Jedi academy, construct their own lightsaber and more. There also will be a small hot dog dinner provided by First State Bank of Noble and Sonic.
In addition, several costumed Star Wars characters will be on hand to pose with pictures.
And children who have finished their reading goals for the summer are especially invited to come get their commemorative reading medallions. The medallions still will be awarded through Aug. 3.
Registration is not required to attend any of the week’s events.
