Metamorphosis ... Starting now

flying girl with booksTeens ages 12 through 18 are invited to join the "Metamorphosis @ Your Library" Summer Reading Challenge at the Noble Public Library.

Sign up to receive a cool backpack bag and enter our punch card drawing for a chance to win great prizes, such as a Nintendo Wii. Other gifts and prizes include Sonic coupons, two vouchers for Oklahoma Red Hawks tickets on August 5, and a pass to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. Receive a punch on your punch card by reading for an hour, attending a teen library program, writing a book review, completing a trivia card, or librarian’s choice. Check with your hometown library for a complete list of prizes.

Noble Public Library, 204 N. Fifth, begins its Teen Summer Reading Program Wednesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. during their kickoff Walking Trails at Riley Park sponsored by the City of Noble. Summer Reading Participants of all ages can walk the trails and search the vegetation to jumpstart their bug collection after they have signed up.

Friday, June 6, at 2 p.m. the annual T-shirt Workshop is for all ages who bring their own pre-washed T-shirt to alter.
Thursday, June 5, at 2 p.m. an Altered Book Workshop presented by artist Sharon Von Schriltz shows teens how to create an altered book collage using discarded books. Supplies are provided, therefore, registration is required.

Thursday, June 12, at 2 p.m. Bug Grossology, a Science Museum Oklahoma program, explores the lives of Arthropods in an offbeat and entertaining look at the gross side.

Friday, June 13, at 2 p.m. teens will enjoy Gock Buildingas they build a quirky gothic sock puppet.

All the events are free; programs, rewards and prizes are made possible through the support of local sponsors and Friends of the Library groups in each community.
