Noble Public Library
Noble Public Library, 204 N. Fifth, will celebrate Pioneer Library System’s 50th Anniversary Tuesday, October 28, between 5:30 and 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to a come-and-go, 1950s style celebration with ice cream floats and cake in recognition of the creation of the library system in 1958.
Library volunteers, donors and supporters will be recognized with corsages or boutonnières. The general public and library patrons are also invited and welcomed to join in the fun.
Musical entertainment will be provided by a Noble band, The Country Drifters. The band will play Rock and Roll oldies for this special Sock Hop event. The Country Drifters perform mostly country music at the library monthly during the Noble Opry.
A special viewing of a video celebrating Pioneer’s 50 Firsts from the First 50 Years will be presented. An exhibit of a recently opened 1983 time capsule will be part of the celebration’s attractions. Guests will receive souvenir tumblers (with or without their ice cream soda) and a series of commemorative bookmarks of Pioneer’s 50 Firsts from the First 50 Years.
Also on October 28, the Noble Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours will be at the Noble Library, allowing area business leaders to enjoy the activities.
