Norman hosts Bilingual Spanish Story Times
The Norman Public Library marks Hispanic Heritage Month with several Bilingual Spanish Story Times presented by the library’s Children’s Department.
Story Times are set for 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. Each program will take place in the Story Time Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
Each program will feature several interactive stories and songs, with a chance for participating children to learn some Spanish and take part in activities based on the theme “Animales.”
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated nationwide from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. It originally was established in 1968 by President Lyndon Johnson as Hispanic Heritage Week and was expanded by Congress to be a monthlong celebration in 1988.
Registration is not required to attend the Story Times.
