The second annual “Book Wars” return to the Norman Central Public Library, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, as part of the library’s Teen Summer Reading Program. The competition takes place in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
The afternoon will feature back-and-forth “battles” between librarians as they defend their favorite books from this summer. A list of books that are part of the contest have been posted in the Teen Area throughout the summer.

The Norman Public Library is breaking new ground with its Sensory Sensitive Teen Movie Nights, planned at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays, July 11, 18 and 25, at the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
While several libraries in the Pioneer Library System offer sensory-sensitive programs and activities for younger children, the Norman Public Library is the first in the state to offer sensory programs geared especially to teens. Families of teens affected by autism or other disabilities are invited to attend.
