Teens getting ready for college can get practical advice with the Norman Public Library writing workshop “College Admission and Scholarship Essays,” at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the Computer Training Center of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
Moira Ozias, Associate Director of the University of Oklahoma Writing Center, and Stephanie Buettner, Associate Director of OU Prospective Student Services, will lead the workshop.
They’ll give insight to participants into how scholarship and admissions committees read essays and how applicants can craft essays to effectively gain the attention of these readers.
Participants will have time to begin brainstorming and drafting essays, as well as opportunity to gather feedback from others.
The program is for high school students. Space is limited so register online, at the library, or by calling 701-2600.
