Norman Public Library

Norman to host Sensory Sensitive Teen Movie Nights in July

The Norman Public Library is breaking new ground with its Sensory Sensitive Teen Movie Nights, planned at 5:30 p.m. on Fridays, July 11, 18 and 25, at the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

While several libraries in the Pioneer Library System offer sensory-sensitive programs and activities for younger children, the Norman Public Library is the first in the state to offer sensory programs geared especially to teens. Families of teens affected by autism or other disabilities are invited to attend.

Those interested can call or stop by the library to get the titles of the upcoming films. The evening is offered totally free of charge, but registration is required to attend so staff has an idea how many to expect.

If they wish, participants may enter through the Lowry Room’s side door on the north side of the building, instead of the regular entrance.

Refreshments will be provided thanks to support from the Friends of the Norman Library.

For more information, visit the library or call 701-2600.
