Norman Public Library
The Norman Public Library invites cooks of all skill levels and culinary interests to its annual Cookbook Swap and Shop, set for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in the Lowry Room of the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
Participants are asked to bring their unwanted cookbooks to the event to swap them with other local chefs.
In addition, the Friends of the Norman Public Library also will set up an area to sell gently used cookbooks at bargain prices.
The program also features an appearance by representatives of the McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church Food Pantry. Volunteers from the program will cook and share several of their best dishes, their recipes and cost-cutting ideas. The food pantry has helped countless local residents over the years through its philanthropic efforts.
The book sale helps to raise funds for the Norman Friends and their support of library programs in Norman throughout the year.
