Library talking science of food, sound in Thursday offerings for children

The Purcell Public Library invites children to the library for a pair of age-appropriate events at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at the library, 919 N. Ninth St.

Children ages 8 and under will explore "Fizz, Boom, Sound," learning the science of sound in experiments and activities appropriate to their age.

For tweens ages 8-12, there will be a chance to visit Einstein’s Megatronic Cosmic Café in a tasty workshop. Jessica Welch of the McClain County OSU Extension Service office will show off some of the science of food, with participants getting to eat some of their creations.

Space for this program will be limited so registration is required in advance. There is no registration required for the craft program for younger children.

For more information on any of the library's activities this summer, call 527-5546.
