Explore the “Art of Technology” in Purcell
Purcell-area teens are invited to the Purcell Public Library to explore the “Art of Technology” at a unique craft program, set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the library, 919 N. Ninth St.
Participants will explore “old school” technology such as cassette tapes, records or other old equipment and repurpose the items into new re-creations of art. All supplies will be provided by library staff.
The program is a local commemoration of Teen Tech Week, which is sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association and is aimed at teens, their parents, educators and other concerned adults. The purpose of the Teen Tech initiative, “Check In @ your library,” is to ensure that teens are competent and ethical users of technologies, especially those that are offered through libraries such as DVDs, databases, audiobooks and video games.
Registration is not required to take part.
