The International Youth Finals Rodeo is back for its annual run in Shawnee. And that means the event’s partnership with the Shawnee Public Library is continuing, as some of the country’s top young rodeo stars will share about their passion with the local library audience.
“Ridin’ and Ropin with the IFYR” comes to the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave., at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. The IFYR’s Youth Directors will be present to demonstrate some of their rodeo skills and pose for photos and sign autographs for those in attendance.
Everyone also will have a chance to take part in a chuckwagon-style snack after the event. All ages are welcome, and registration is not required to attend.
The next morning, at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, the rodeo will host the library. The first 100 library cardholders to show their card at the gate will receive free admission to that morning’s session of the rodeo, taking place at the Heart of Oklahoma Expo, 1700 W. Independence St.
