Shawnee Friends set to host annual book sale
The Shawnee Friends of the Library are gearing up for the biggest book sale the group has ever conducted.
The sale begins with a members’ preview sale 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, before the public sale runs Oct. 4-6. Memberships to the Friends will be sold Wednesday evening.
Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, and a half-price sale Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Prices for materials include 75 cents for paperbacks, $1 for hardbacks, 25 cents for children’s books, $2 for commercial CDs and DVDs and $1 for videotapes or books on tape. In addition to having a half-price sale Saturday, there also will be a bag sale with bags of books available for $1.
