Shawnee's Downton Abbey program rescheduled
Learn more about the real world timeframe featured in the popular series at “The Story Behind Downton Abbey,” a program at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in Community Rooms A and B of the Shawnee Public Library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave. The program originally was planned for February but was rescheduled to this date.
Retired history professor Mary Oppegard will lead the discussion, talking about the traditions and happenings of the time in turn-of-the-century England.
Downton Abbey has been featured both in several seasons in the United Kingdom and on PBS and also in two books chronicling the making of the series.
Ages 18 and up are invited to the program, and registration is not required to attend.
