Children interested in trains won’t want to miss the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library’s “Train Talk,” at 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, in Meeting Rooms A and B of the library, 2201 SW 134th St.
Larry Loomis from the Oklahoma Railway Museum will visit the library to talk about the history of trains in Oklahoma as well as safety tips and fascinating facts about trains.

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library’s “Techy Thursday” gives children an introduction to stop-motion moviemaking, in a program at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.
Staff from the library will provide a variety of props, including Legos, to be used in creating the story for the movie. Teams will plan out a short movie and take photos of the action before library staff helps to create the short movie for viewing at the program. Movies may also be posted later to the library’s YouTube channel.

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library is getting Terrifically Scientific on Tuesdays throughout the summer, as it continues to commemorate this year’s Summer Reading Program with afternoons of exploration and discovery for children of all ages.
Activities are planned at 2 p.m. each Tuesday in July. Space will be limited so registration is required separately for each program.

The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library’s “Grow a Learner with Art” summer series continues at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the library, 2201 SW 134th St.
The workshop is taught by local teaching artist Kiona Millirons. Part two of the series is “Sculpture and Painting for Tiny Hands.” Children ages 5 and under and their caregivers will take part in creative expression activities with play dough and paint applications followed by a story time related to art and color.
