Teens getting ready for college can get practical advice with the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library writing workshop “College Admission and Scholarship Essays,” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Rooms A and B of the library, 2201 SW 134th St.
Moira Ozias, Associate Director of the University of Oklahoma Writing Center, will lead the workshop.
She will give insight to participants into how scholarship and admissions committees read essays and how applicants can craft essays to effectively gain the attention of these readers.
Participants will have time to begin brainstorming and drafting essays, as well as opportunity to gather feedback from others.
The program is for high school students. Space is limited so registration is required to take part.
