Penn Ave. Literary Society set for August book discussion
The Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library’s Penn Ave. Literary Society will discuss “A Visit from the Goon Squad” by Jennifer Egan at its next meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in the Conference Room of the library, 2201 SW 134th St.
The book is highly acclaimed, winning the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, as well as the 2010 National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. It follows the stories of rock music executive Bennie Salazar and the stories of people around him in the business.
The group selects a different book each month for discussion. Books for the next month’s discussion can be picked up at the library’s Information Services Desk and returned at the next book discussion.
