Dance the night away in SOKC

SOKC - Summer Reading - Adult

JoseJose Bracamontes Ramirez is a familiar face to the Pioneer Library System's Summer Reading Program, bringing the class and grace of the ballroom into hometown libraries with his easy teaching style.

Bracamontes – that’s his mother’s maiden name that he’s chosen to go by during this summer’s programs – will help participants “Dance the Night Away” at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library, 2201 SW 134th St.

Learning steps of dances like the Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Salsa or Merengue are just a byproduct of the main message Jose brings to the dance floor.

“Dancing is all about respect. It’s about learning to be ladies and gentlemen and understanding the etiquette behind the dances,” he said.

Participants in the program will need to sign a Waiver and Release form prior to taking part. The form is available online here .
