Hello Visitor,

Big Read 2013

Old School

Big Read 2013 takes the reader to New England in the early 1960s, through the Tobias Wolff novel Old School

This coming of age story follows a young man trying to find his place and fulfill his dreams of being a writer. Through his development, themes of tradition, class, and self-identity are explored. Old School is a novel that celebrates American literature while it tells a heartwarming coming of age story.

You won't want to miss the chance to hear Tobias Wolff speak about his work on April 25.

Big Read Kick-Off

Tobias WolffBig Read will have its kickoff at the OU Memorial Union in Beaird Lounge on March 27, 2013 from 6 pm to 8 pm.

This fun gathering will have a 1960s East Coast prep vibe with a musical performance of OU BYU A Capella singing group. Readers' Guides and book giveaways will be available as well someone to take sign-ups for book discussions.

A number of well known Oklahoma authors will be on hand to meet and greet during this 'Old School'-like, campus gathering of faculty (writers) and students (public).
