Hello Visitor,

Summer Reading Program Volunteers

This year's Summer Reading Program for the Pioneer Library System is quickly approaching! There will be so many opportunities to get involved in this experience as each hometown library and the library system as a whole encourages patrons to participate.

Besides the numerous program kickoff dates in the month of May, teens can have a blast and volunteer at the library during the summer.

The Moore Public Library offers the Summer Reading Volunteen Orientation on May 13 & 14 at 3:30 p.m. for teens who would like to volunteer at the library during the summer.

The Newcastle Public Library offers their own Teen Volunteer Orientation on May 16 at 4 p.m.

The Norman Public Library offers various opportunities for summer volunteer training. They are as follows:

May 14 at 5 p.m. (children's dept.) & 6 p.m. (teen/adult dept.)

May 18 at 2 p.m. (teen/adult dept.) & 2 p.m. (Children's)

May 23 at 5 p.m. (children's dept.) & 6 p.m. (teen/adult)

May 28 at 5 p.m. (children's dept.)

May 29 at 2 p.m. (teen/adult dept.)

If any teens are interested in helping out at the library, we encourage them to come join us!

May Events at SOKC and Tecumseh

RocksCome out to the Southwest Oklahoma City Public Library and join the ROCKing Out at the Library event. You'll learn about rocks and geology while you enjoy listening to live classic rock n roll tunes.

Stanley Krukowski, from the Oklahoma Geological Survey, will talk about how geology plays a role in creating items we use every day and Chick-Fil-A will also be present to hand out goodies.

The event will take place on May 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is required for all participants. Doors will open 10 minutes early, and spots will be given away 5 minutes after event starts.

For children, the Tecumseh Public Library offers the Dig Into T-shirt Design! activity on May 18 at 11 a.m. for children who would like to decorate their own t-shirts.

No matter what age group your in, be sure to join in on our summer fun! We would love to have you.
