little girl dancingFor toddlers and preschool-age children and their caregivers looking for weekend kick-off, the Newcastle Public Library will host the Friday Fun-seekers program on Friday, March 19 at 11 a.m.

Children with a participating adult will enjoy musical aerobic fun, dance, games, and other “free-for-all” spontaneous activities with a special “Friday fun” twist.

Library assistant Lori Ford will present the program.

boy graduate sitting on booksOn Monday, March 15, 10:30 a.m., the Newcastle library will offer a “Success by Six with Parent Chat” presentation and discussion designed to inform parents of children under six about the Success by Six project.

At the end of the program there will be time for a “Parent Chat,” when parents can talk one-on-one with a Child Development Specialist about their child.

Christy Emig of the McClain County Health Department will be the specialist present.

fruits and veggiesA healthy eating presentation called “Cooking Wise, Eating Healthy” will take place on Thursday, March 11, 5 p.m.

Presenter Micky Simpson from the McClain County Home Extension will show participants how to make smart decisions and how to transform everyday cooking into healthier recipes. Participants will have the opportunity to sample.

“Cooking Wise, Eating Healthy” is offered for teens and adults.

Registration is required: stop by the library in person, call 387-5076, or sign up through the Newcastle Events Calendar.
