September…back to school, back to basics.  But wait a minute, things are not as ordinary as they seem: the focus is Movies, Bingo, and Freaks at the Moore Public Library, 225 S. Howard in Moore, for teens who dare to be different.

Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks book jacket

Are you ready to play Rotten Movie Bingo?  Have you seen those movie tricks a hundred times?  You gotta hold your nose because this movie really stinks!  Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 p.m. teens can become their own movie critics; catch cliché, corny movie scenes, spot the “stinker” scenes, share the worse scenarios, and  BINGO!  This is your chance to expose romantic movie “predictability”, eat snacks and spoof movie redundancies…so come to the library and hang out for a hilarious game.  For teens-grades 6-12.

What do you do when everyone at school hates you?  Dare to read, explore, and discuss this dilemma in the book Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature on Thursday, September 24 at 5:30 p.m.  A controversial, fun book by author Robin Brande that takes on the topic of stepping out of your “comfort” zone and being different.  Pick up your copy of the book and read in advance at the Information Desk inside the library.

“I did not realize how much these two programs had in common when I scheduled them for September…usually a quiet month!,” says Leanne Cheek, Teen Librarian for Moore Public Library.  “These two programs are really about being an individual and not conforming:  concepts that teens enjoy.”

For more information, visit the Moore Public Library’s Information Services Desk or call 793-4349.  No prior registration is required; books are available for checkout.
