Be my valentine / Debbie Macomber.

My Funny Valentine Dianne Williams needs a man. But only for a night. The night of the community center Valentine dinner, to be precise. An offer that might lead to more than just one night. My Hero Bailey York needs a man. But only on paper. She's writing a romance novel and she's having difficulty creating a hero. So she needs a real-life model for her story. Parker Davidson is perfect, everything a hero should be. But he wants to become the hero in her life, not just her book. And not just on Valentine's Day, either!

Beautiful disaster: a novel / Jamie McGuire.

The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn't drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University's Walking One-Night Stand. Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants and needs to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis's apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Last Updated on Friday, 02 November 2012 15:01

October 1st, 1932. It was the fifth inning of game three of the 1932 World Series. With two strikes and Wrigley Field filled with hostile Cub fans, Babe Ruth pointed towards the center field bleachers. He then sent the ball flying high over the very bleachers he pointed at. The following home run led to a victory and the eventual sweep of the series for the Yankees. Whether this story is legend or fact is still debated, but it remains one of the greatest baseball stories ever told. Here are some books on Babe Ruth and other baseball notables to help you get ready for the MLB postseason.

The Big Bam : the life and times of Babe Ruth by Leigh Montville. Cover Image

He was the Sultan of Swat. The Caliph of Clout. The Wizard of Whack. The Bambino. And simply, to his teammates, the Big Bam. From the award-winning author of theNew York Times bestseller Ted Williams comes the thoroughly original, definitively ambitious, and exhilaratingly colorful biography of the largest legend ever to loom in baseball--and in the history of organized sports.
