Baby Lap-sit Story Time at Tecumseh Print E-mail

Parents, looking for a way to better interact with your baby? On Friday, March 12, the Tecumseh library will be offering a story time, Lap-sit Story Time, to give parents and caregivers time to interact with their child. Beginning at 11 a.m., the library will begin sing-songs, do finger plays, and listen to stories.

Tecumseh to offer Lapsit Story Time Print E-mail

Parents, looking for a way to better interact with your baby? On Friday, March 5, the Tecumseh library will be offering a story time, Lapsit Storytime, to give parents and caregivers time to interact with their child. Beginning at 11 a.m., the library will begin sing-songs, do finger plays, and listen to stories.

Lapsit Storytime is meant for babies up to 2 years old. The event will continue to occur each Friday in March at 11 a.m.
 
Registration is not required. The Tecumseh library is located at 114 North Broadway.

Tecumseh Toddlers Awarded Savings Bond Print E-mail

children and parents at award presentationChristmas came early to a group of toddlers attending the Tecumseh Public Library's story time on December 17th. D.R. Shipley, president of First United Bank in Tecumseh, awarded each participant a $50 savings bond for participating in Growing Like a Read, an early childhood literacy program designed to prepare a child to read. The program was made possible by a grant from the Inasmuch Foundation.

"First United Bank strongly feels that learning to read begins with learning basic literacy skills at an early age. We are pleased to partner with the Tecumseh Public Library and Pioneer Library System to help parents invest in their children's financial and educational future," stated Mr. Shipley.

Receiving savings bonds were Alyssa and Katie Bascue, Vanessa and Savannah Wooten, Scarlett Mortimore, Michael Schlottman, Caitlin Love, and Brooke Kato.

Kids can enjoy story time more than ever at the Tecumseh Library, which will now be hosting a toddler story time EVERY Thursday at 11! The story times include books, songs, and fingerplays and are desgined for children and parents to enjoy together. Participants may also enroll in the Growing Like a Read program, which encourages reading readiness skills.
